About us
Life Story Charitable Trust aims to provide high quality counselling, psychotherapy and complementary therapies to as many people as possible within the local community who need this support, and also to provide specialist training to professionals working in those fields.
These services are delivered through the Life Story Therapeutic Centre, which adheres to the integrative framework of working and conforms to the BACP ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy. The Centre receives self-referrals from clients, and referrals from GPs, Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs), private organisations and businesses in the community.
The Trust:
- is supported by a co-operative of psychotherapists, counsellors, trainers and natural health therapists, who work to the vision and values of the Trust, and also operate individual practices
- operates on a non-profit making basis, allocating any income over-and-above the cost of operating the Centre towards providing low-cost or free therapy to those in need within the community
- is committed to working with clients who are currently inadequately provided for in care/handling processes (e.g. sexual abusers while their cases being heard in court, or during a prison term)
"Within an all-inclusive environment, we promote and support personal and social growth."
