
Mrs Barbara Perry - Counselling Supervisor
Barbara supervises our group of trainees who work with different counselling approaches. Drawing on her many years of experience as a counsellor, supervisor and lecturer of adults and young people, she is able to guide, enhance and contain the development and ethical practice of the trainees.
Barbara was originally trained in the person-centred/existential approach but also has a good knowledge of psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive theoretical practice from her past lecturing. She has worked in many organisations, including the police and schools supervising staff working in difficult arenas, has managed a young people’s counselling agency and has a private practice in supervising qualified counsellors and counselling clients.
Barbara has a sound knowledge of safeguarding children, working with parents and children’s care services, whilst maintaining confidentiality and the law within the BACP Ethical Framework.Barbara is a BACP Senior Accredited Supervisor in Individuals and Groups and has specialities as below:
