David has a PhD in clinical psychology, is an accredited BACP/UKRICP psychotherapist, a registered HPC psychologist, a certified trauma therapist, and an accredited addictions counsellor. He has a 30 year career in the USA and UK working with adults, adolescents, and families in a wide variety of settings including psychiatric hospitals, community mental health clinics, brain rehabilitation units, social service departments, addiction treatment facilities, the NHS, and private practice. He also has extensive experience as an expert witness in Family Court proceedings.
David’s experience includes using CBT, EMDR, and brief therapies with clients who experience depression, anxiety, bereavement, addictions and trauma related issues. He has studied and trained at Providence College, Rhode Island, Antioch University, New Hampshire, and the Illinois School for Professional Psychology, Chicago, USA.
Other interests and areas of research include attachment, personality disordered clients with substance abuse issues, and addiction as a manifestation of trauma.
