Miss Joanna Carey - Colon Hydrotherapist
I studied at Cardiff University and qualified as an Occupational therapist in 2007 and have been practicing in physical medicine for 2 and a half years working mainly in hospitals with patients suffering from acute disorders of the gastrointestinal and the endocrine system ;people in orthopaedic wards and rehabilitation programmes.
The most rewarding aspect of my work is supporting patients to deal with pain, stress and anxiety and helping them overcome their barriers to healthy living.
In my search for providing a wider range of benefits to my clients, I discovered Reflexology and Colon Hydrotherapy which seemed the perfect complement to my profession and would add value to my patients. Through my professional training, I had a clear understanding of anatomy, physiology and the pathologies of underlying causes of illnesses. In a majority of cases, the digestive system plays a key role on health and wellbeing.
The next step was to train as a Colon Hydrotherapist in the summer of 2010 attending the intense I-ACT Hydrotherapy Practice course, I have a positive attitude and calming nature which I find enables me to build rapports with my clients and I and enables me to engage with my clients to achieve best results.
Each person is an individual and requires a tailored approach to achieve best results, in treatment sessions I use a holistic approach using the mental and emotional synergies to help the release process.
