Ms Liza Renyard - Cognitive Behaviour Therapist

As a  member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), I follow their code of ethical conduct.  I have worked therapeutically for six years in the NHS.

Postgraduate Diploma in Evidence Based Psychological Treatment at the Charlie Waller Institute at the University of Reading.  Click here to see what the BBC said about the course.

I value building a warm and supportive therapeutic relationship in which you feel safe, empowered and on an equal status.  Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a structured method, which enables you to identify unhelpful patterns that are causing difficulties such as those listed below.  Together, we discover and try out new strategies that have more positive effects on how you feel.

The aim of CBT is in helping you understand why the difficulties are occurring now, how you can change their effect and help yourself feel better, and how to manage them if they arise in future.  Research suggests CBT is effective in alleviating many of the difficulties listed below.  The approach is highly individualised and tailored for each client.  I receive specialist supervision in working with clients with low mood and depression as part of my studies.
