Course Tutor   

                    Andy Fookes  is a Director of The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute. He has trained extensively in Gestalt Psychotherapy, Humanistic Person-centred counselling, Integrative work and supervision, both with the Gestalt Institute of Los Angeles and at The Sherwood Institute itself from its earliest days. He was a visiting trainer on courses run in York, Oxford, London and Israel.

At The Sherwood Institute he has run the Master’s programme in Humanistic Person-Centred Psychotherapy, the Diploma course in Humanistic Person-Centred Counselling and the Masters programme in Gestalt Psychotherapy.  He was also a tutor on the Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy programme. Andy ran a full practice for many years, working with individuals, couples and groups where he employed all aspects of his various trainings and personal work including an interest in the "Orders of Love" developed by Bert Hellinger.

The Sherwood Institute Supervision Diploma Course


For 2008/9 we are pleased to announce that the Sherwood Institute will be running a supervision diploma course at Life Story Therapeutic Centre in Reading

Training for those wishing to become clinical supervisors: as professionals in counselling/ psychotherapy/the helping professions - in the voluntary, public or private sectors
This will be a 1 Year part-time course (nine 2 day modules)

The applicant should have one or more of the following

  • An appropiate counselling/psychotherapy qualification
  • A degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • A supervisory role within the helping professions

The supervision course is deigned to build on skills and experience already developed by students prior to attending the course.

It emphasises  the ability to hold an interview of processes and people such that they can be helped to fulfil their role and task more effectively.

The course is taught using both didatic and experimental methods, and emphasises the shared knowledge and experience of all participants.

Leads to a Diploma in Supervision from Sherwood Psychotherpy Training Institute.
